History

Standing in Cambodian financial market with almost 30 years, KB PRASAC Bank Plc. develops itself in various stages. With the strong shareholder, KB Kookmin Bank – Korea, KB PRASAC Bank is able to participate in providing tailor–made financial services to customers and beyond.

2024

  • KB PRASAC Bank Plc. was officially launched under the
    presidency of Her Excellency Dr. Chea Serey, Governor of
    National Bank of Cambodia.
  • KB PRASAC launched all-new KB PRASAC Mobile app,
    KB PRASAC Merchant app and KB PRASAC Corporate.
  • KB PRASAC Bank launched cross-border QR payment
    service, allowing customers to use KB PRASAC Mobile app
    to scan and pay at merchants that accept Thai QR with the
    PromptPay logo in Thailand easily for free of charge.

2023

  • KB PRASAC Bank Plc. has a commercial bank license from the National Bank of Cambodia (NBC) and merger approval from Ministry of Commerce (MoC).
  • KB PRASAC Bank Plc. has its registered share capital of KHR 2,400 billion (equivalent to USD 600 million); and it has a sole shareholder KB Kookmin Bank Co., Ltd., located in Korea.
  • KB PRASAC Bank Plc. originates and changes its identity after merger between PRASAC Microfinance Institution Plc. (PRASAC MFI Plc.) and KB Kookmin Bank Cambodia Plc. (KBC).
  • The Bank still ranks its position in number 2 in term of operational networks and staff, allowing customers to easier in accessing to physical branch offices.

2022

  • KB PRASAC increased its registered share capital to KHR 1,600 billion (equivalent to USD 400 million). This shares is distributed among 2 shareholders, KB Kookmin Bank Co., Ltd. and KB Kookin Bank Cambodia Plc. (KBC).
  • KB PRASAC reached USD 4 billion in loan outstanding.
  • KB PRASAC also launched 2 new branch offices, bringing the total offices of 184 and operates 98% of total country’s villages.

2021

  • KB PRASAC starts its mission to merge and transform itself to be a commercial bank.
  • Remaing 30 percent stake of KB PRASAC has been acquired by KB Kookmin Bank Co., Ltd.
  • KB PRASAC increased its registered share capital to KHR 1,200 billion (equivalent to USD 300 million).
  • KB PRASAC reached USD 4 billion of Total Assets.

2020

  • KB PRASAC has a major and strategic shareholder after KB Kookmin Bank Co., Ltd. acquired 70% of the shares.
  • KB PRASAC increased its registered share capital to KHR 920 billion (equivalent to USD 230 million).
  • KB PRASAC obtained securities listing certificate from Cambodia Securities Exchange (CSX).
  • KB PRASAC changed its legal identity and brand name “PRASAC Microfinance Institution Limited” to “PRASAC Microfinance Institution Plc.“

1995-2019

  • Originated in 1995 as a development project under the name of PRASAC, funded by the European Union (EU).
  • Then transform to rural credit operator and licensed microfinance with providing full-fleged financial services to customers.
