KB PRASAC Bank Holds Groundbreaking Ceremony for a Kindergarten Building Initiated by the National Bank of Cambodia

The groundbreaking ceremony for a kindergarten building at Sambor Primary School in Sambor village, Sambor commune, Prasat Sambor district, Kampong Thom province, was held in the afternoon of 3 July 2025, and was presided over by His Excellency Yim Leat and Her Excellency Say Sam Ath, Deputy Governors of the National Bank of Cambodia. This construction is initiated by the central bank and is funded by KB PRASAC Bank.

Mr. Oum Sam Oeun, President and Chief Executive Officer of KB PRASAC Bank, said that KB PRASAC Bank has thus far constructed 48 library and school buildings at various schools in 15 provinces in Cambodia, that are equipped with books and documents, and facilities, in line with the library standards set by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport. He added that it is important to support the education sector as only education can help our young children gain the knowledge needed to do business or get employed to make a living in the future.

H.E. Yim Leat stated that prior to groundbreaking to construct a school building at Sambor primary school, KB PRASAC Bank has already provided 48 library and school buildings to other schools to support education of young students. The kindergarten building at Sambor is expected to be completed with furnished facility in the next few months. Therefore, the students here should use and help preserve this achievement for long-term use, and have to study hard to competitive with other schools.

On that occasion, there was also a tree planting ceremony participated by the presiding officials and distinguished guests to enhance the beauty of the green environment at the school.

It is noteworthy that KB PRASAC Bank Plc., is a new commercial bank in Cambodia with the license from the National Bank of Cambodia. As of December 2024, the bank has total assets of USD 5.64 billion, deposit balance of USD 3.53 billion from 979 thousand depositors, total loan portfolio of USD 5.18 billion, serving 576 thousand borrowers, with 188 branch offices, and more than 10,000 staff.
