Phnom Penh, 8 May 2025: KB PRASAC Bank Plc., one of Cambodia’s leading commercial banks, officially launched Tax Payment Service. This service allows individuals and entities to conveniently pay various types of taxes to the General Department of Taxation (GDT) through KB PRASAC Bank’s extensive branch network and KB PRASAC Mobile app, without any additional fees.
The official launch event took place at KB PRASAC Head Office, presided over by H.E. Dr. Ken Sambath, Deputy Director General of General Department of Taxation (GDT) and Mr. OUM Sam Oeun, President and CEO of KB PRASAC Bank, along with many other dignitary guests.
Mr. OUM Sam Oeun, President and CEO of KB PRASAC Bank, said, “We are very proud that the General Department of Taxation of the Ministry of Economy and Finance has granted us the right to collect taxes and duties to the General Department of Taxation. Our wide branch network and financial technology capabilities allow us to provide this service to taxpayers widely and effectively.”
He added that KB PRASAC Bank has received the highest approval to provide this tax payment service because, as a corporate citizen, the Bank has always been steadfast in its commitment to tax compliance and has always received letters of commendation from the head of the government on the occasion of the bank being named the highest tax paying enterprise and receiving the Gold Tax Compliance Certificate from the General Department of Taxation over the past several years.
Speaking on the occasion, His Excellency Dr. Ken Sambath, Deputy Director-General of the General Department of Taxation, highly appreciated KB PRASAC Bank for collaborating with the Ministry of Economy and Finance, especially the General Department of Taxation, to provide all types of tax collection services in response to the revenue mobilization strategy of the Public Financial Management Reform Program of the Royal Government of Cambodia.
He said that the use of banking services for tax collection transactions aims to bring tax services closer to taxpayers and provide an easy option for paying taxes, as well as ensuring transparency, accountability, and efficiency in tax management and collection.
KB PRASAC is the 13th bank to provide tax collection services to the General Department of Taxation. KB PRASAC was authorized to provide this service because the bank has undergone rigorous reviews of its capabilities and qualifications, including assets, human resources, management mechanisms, information technology systems, and the strength and trust of the bank, tax compliance, and many other conditions.
The official launch of KB PRASAC Bank’s services for tax-filing transactions will bring tax-filing services closer to taxpayers and help reduce difficulties by restoring taxpayers’ trust, especially by providing convenience, saving time, and reducing past complications. The participation of taxpayers in using KB PRASAC Bank’s services for tax-filing transactions will be an important factor in strengthening tax culture, ensuring transparency and accountability of tax payments, and contributing to national development through tax payments to the state. In conclusion, His Excellency congratulated KB PRASAC Bank for its success in doing business in the banking and finance sector and the official launch of tax payment service today, and wished KB PRASAC Bank continued success so as to contribute to Cambodia’s socio-economic development.
